Are Your Implants Under Warranty?

The Wall Center for Plastic Surgery

Mentor made headlines recently by becoming the first implant manufacturer to introduce a lifetime warranty. Theirs covers all of their MENTOR® MemoryGel® and MemoryShape® breast implants, and comes on the heels of some other impressive warranty programs introduced by their competitors. Most of the breast implants offered at our Shreveport, Louisiana practice come with warranties, but the conditions of the warranty may vary depending on the patient’s individual circumstances. A good warranty can offer you plenty of peace of mind about your investment and your well-being. What’s remarkable about the ever-expanding warranties being offered is how clearly they demonstrate the manufacturers’ confidence in their products.

Here’s a quick rundown of some of the highlights of the standard warranties from the 3 main U.S. implant manufacturers:

MENTOR

  • Free product replacement for life
  • Up to $3,500 in financial assistance in case of rupture
  • 3 years of capsular contracture coverage (for primary breast augmentations)

For complete warranty information, visit the Mentor site.

Natrelle® (Allergan)

  • Lifetime product replacement in case of deflation or rupture
  • 10 years of financial assistance
  • Any size or style may be selected for replacement implants

For complete warranty information, visit Natrelle’s warranty page.

Although ruptures, capsular contracture, and other complications aren’t common, the knowledge that they’re protected in case of any of these events is reassuring for many women. After your breast augmentation, you’ll receive the necessary documentation so that you can review the full terms of your warranty. Most of the warranties are automatic or handled by our office, meaning you don’t have to do a thing except relax, recover, and shop the new Victoria’s Secret catalog!

Dr. Wall Jr. did my breast augmentation in 2007 and I was wondering if there is any way I can find out if my implants are under warranty. I believe I have a slow leak in one of mine.
