While lips can be covered with lipstick, and eyes with sunglasses, the nose is a feature for which there is no mask. Providing balance, character, and proportion to the face, each nose is different and offers a unique look. Those who feel their nose is too crooked, large, or disproportionate often feel that a rhinoplasty (nose job) in Shreveport, Louisiana, from the plastic surgeons at The Wall Center for Plastic Surgery will enhance their appearance and self-confidence. Nose surgery can also help to improve breathing and reduce snoring.
At The Wall Center, our team includes some of the top rhinoplasty surgeons in Louisiana. To learn more about how they can enhance your look and your breathing, request a consultation online or call our office at (318) 795-0801.

Unlike many cosmetic procedures, a rhinoplasty transcends gender and age. This procedure can provide a variety of cosmetic improvements, including:
The cost of a rhinoplasty procedure varies widely because our plastic surgeons personalize each surgery to the patient’s unique needs and aesthetic goals. We provide a personalized quote as part of each consultation. Qualified rhinoplasty patients have financing options that can help them afford their surgery without a long delay.

During your consultation, you and your surgeon will discuss in-depth the results you want to achieve through a nose surgery procedure. By understanding your goals, your plastic surgeon will be able to give you a better indication of what results you can expect. Also during the consultation, you can plan your surgery and review your possible nose job results with a preview from our VECTRA® 3-D imaging system. The VECTRA software creates a 3-D rendering of your face, allowing you to choose different surgical options and ensuring you and your surgeon have the same goals and expectations for your surgery.
During rhinoplasty, the skin is separated from the bone and cartilage, and the nose is reshaped to achieve the desired look. The skin is then stitched back together. Depending on the intensity of the procedure, rhinoplasty is done under general or local anesthesia. After surgery, a brace is placed over the nose to let it heal into its new shape.

The Wall Center is one of the only practices in Louisiana to offer breast augmentation patients the opportunity to plan and preview their results with the VECTRA® 3D imaging system. VECTRA’s lifelike renderings allow us to select the implants and surgical options that will produce your ideal breasts.
Learn MoreIt will take about a week after surgery before you will feel comfortable enough to go out in public. Initial swelling can be substantial, but our surgeons can prescribe medication to help ease any pain you may experience. Patients typically are ready to return to work and school in about 2 weeks. You will need to refrain from strenuous exercise for 4 to 6 weeks. Usually, after 2 to 3 months, 80% to 90% of the swelling will be gone, and the long-term results will be more apparent.

Swelling typically takes about a year to fully resolve, with the tip of the nose often being the last area to refine. Once you achieve your final results, they will last indefinitely.
The patient’s nose should be fully developed before nose surgery, around age 15 for girls and at least 16 for boys.
Sleep with your head elevated for at least the first week to minimize swelling and enhance breathing. Propping yourself up with pillows or sleeping in a recliner can be helpful.
Rhinoplasty surgical times vary with the complexity of the case; typically, they are 1.5 to 3 hours for straightforward cases and 4 to 6 for more complicated procedures.
Yes, our surgeons can perform “awake rhinoplasty” using local anesthesia, often combined with light IV sedation. This technique is typically reserved for minor to moderate adjustments. They use general anesthesia for complex procedures and when the patient prefers it to ensure comfort and optimal surgical conditions.
