Where in the World Is Dr. Simeon Wall Jr.?

The Wall Center for Plastic Surgery

Staying at the forefront in a field as ever-changing as plastic surgery leaves little time for relaxation. Over the last several months, I’ve been traveling the globe sharing my knowledge on topics such as SAFELipo, advances in breast augmentation, and other timely subjects with my peers, while still maintaining a busy schedule at my plastic surgery practice in Louisiana.

In July, I addressed the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) at the organization’s ISAPS Los Cabos Conference in stunning Los Cabos, Mexico. ISAPS is a nonprofit group that only admits board-certified plastic surgeons. ISAPS is committed to advancing the patient experience by making plastic surgery safer and more effective, and it was an honor to have the opportunity to speak to my peers from around the world.

In October, I headed to the Windy City where I spoke at Plastic Surgery, The Meeting. Traditionally known as the largest annual gathering of plastic surgeons on the planet, Plastic Surgery, The Meeting is the annual meeting of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, that features device and product exhibits, speakers, and a host of fun, educational events. This year’s event in Chicago was no exception, and I was honored to serve my second term as the Co-Chairman of the Instructional Course Committee for the meeting. I also was asked to speak on a number of different topics, including my perspective on the state-of-the-art in mommy makeovers and tummy tuck surgery, as well as managing difficult problems in breast augmentation, among several other panel presentations and lectures.

Also in October, I was a keynote speaker at the Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of South Africa (APRSS) annual congress in Cape Town, South Africa. Over the course of several days, I spoke on topics including SAFELipo techniques, revision liposuction, Mommy Makeover, and the 7 Deadly Sins of abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).

Finally, this month Holly and I attended Mentor’s LEAD meeting to discuss exciting changes in the breast implant industry. LEAD is an annual meeting of the most prolific Mentor breast implant providers in the country, and it’s a big honor to be included in such a prestigious group.

Holly, our boys, and I are all excited about our trip to Israel over Thanksgiving, where I’ll be serving as the keynote speaker at the 40th Annual Meeting of the Israel Society for Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery in my role as a Traveling Professor for The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. I’ve been asked to speak on my concepts of creating and maintaining beautiful results in breast augmentation with simultaneous short-scar breast lift surgery. I’ll also be teaching my courses on incorporating SAFELipo into your practice, advanced abdominoplasty techniques, and managing difficult problems in aesthetic breast surgery.

It’s a huge honor to be able to bring my perspectives on plastic surgery to my peers around the world, and back to my patients right here in Louisiana. Although this part of my career can leave me a little drained at times, I know that a robust schedule of speaking engagements – even when they’re halfway around the world – is an invaluable way to enrich my practice for the benefit of our patients and also leave the specialty of plastic surgery hopefully better than I found it.
